Summary
This study looked at 60 children aged 1 to 15 having heart surgery with a heart-lung machine. It compared two types of filters—hemofilters and cheaper hemodialyzers—to see how well they remove inflammatory proteins from the blood. The goal was to find out if the less expensive option is safe and effective.
