First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests a new tablet called HEC585 in about 472 adults aged 40-80 with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a disease that scars the lungs and makes breathing hard. Participants are randomly assigned to receive HEC585, a placebo, or an existing drug (pirfenidone) to see if HEC585 can slow lung function decline over 52 weeks. The main goal is to measure changes in how much air the lungs can hold (FVC).
