New heart surgery technique aims to reduce complications
NCT ID NCT03977129
Summary
This study compares two different approaches for deciding whether to fix blocked heart arteries during planned heart valve surgery. It involves 792 adults who need valve surgery and also have narrowed heart arteries. One group uses a special computer analysis (QFR) to decide which arteries need repair, while the other group uses the standard visual method. The goal is to see which approach better prevents serious complications like heart attack, stroke, or death in the first month after surgery.
