Experimental heart treatment tested in small safety trial
NCT ID NCT04327635
Summary
This early-stage study tested the safety of a single dose of a biological drug called PEP in 9 patients who had just received a coronary stent. The drug, made from parts of donated blood, was injected directly into the heart's arteries right after the stent procedure. Researchers wanted to see if it was safe and if it might help protect the heart from further damage.
