New pill targets hidden heart risk in High-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT06816264

Summary

This study tested whether a new oral medication called HRS-5346 could safely lower levels of lipoprotein(a), a fatty particle in the blood linked to heart attack and stroke risk. It involved 120 adults who already had heart disease or were at high risk for it and had high lipoprotein(a) levels. Participants were randomly assigned to receive either the real pill or a placebo to compare results.
