Pacemaker procedure may cut heart failure deaths in AF patients

Summary
This study compares a pacemaker-based procedure (AV node ablation plus physiological pacing) against standard medication in 266 people with permanent atrial fibrillation and heart failure with preserved pumping function. The goal is to see if regularizing the heart rate with pacing reduces deaths and heart failure hospitalizations over two years. Participants will have clinic visits at 3, 12, and 24 months.
