Heart shield for chemo: new hope for blood cancer patients

Summary
This study tests whether a drug called dexrazoxane can protect the heart from damage caused by chemotherapy in people with certain blood cancers, such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). About 100 adults will receive dexrazoxane alongside their standard chemo to see if it helps prevent a drop in heart function. The goal is to make cancer treatment safer for the heart.
