Robotic surgery heart risk study: can fragile patients handle the tilt?
NCT ID NCT06336746
First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at how the heart handles the extreme head-down position (Trendelenburg) used during robotic pelvic surgery. Researchers will monitor 80 patients—some with normal heart function and some with heart failure—to see how their hearts perform under these conditions. The goal is to identify which patients might be at risk for serious circulatory problems during surgery.
