Can a pacemaker mimic exercise to strengthen a failing heart?
NCT ID NCT06332391
Summary
This study is testing whether a special heart pacing pattern, designed to mimic the heart rate changes during exercise, can help improve heart function in people with heart failure. Participants, who already have an implanted defibrillator, will receive either the special pacing or a sham (fake) treatment a few times a week for six weeks. Researchers will measure changes in heart strength, walking ability, and quality of life to see if this pacing approach is beneficial.
