NCT ID NCT04775914
First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study is testing two methods used during emergency heart attack treatment to see if they improve patient outcomes. The first method, called ischemic postconditioning, involves briefly interrupting blood flow after opening the blocked artery. The second uses ultrasound guidance to place a stent more precisely. The study will enroll 2500 adults having a specific type of heart attack (STEMI) and track whether these techniques reduce the risk of death, heart failure, or future heart problems.
