Minutes matter: new study links heart attack delay to dangerous heart rhythms

NCT ID NCT07175259

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study will follow 500 people having a major heart attack (STEMI) to see how the time from first symptoms to opening the blocked artery affects the heart's electrical signals. Researchers will check if longer delays lead to more dangerous heart rhythms and other complications in the hospital and over the next 6 months. Participants must be getting emergency treatment to open the artery, and those with certain heart conditions or on specific medications cannot join.
