New approach to protect heart attack patients from dangerous stomach bleeding
NCT ID NCT07467213
Summary
This study compares two approaches to protect the stomachs of heart attack patients who need blood-thinning medications. Researchers want to see if routinely giving a newer stomach-protecting drug works better than following current medical guidelines. The study will involve 5,000 patients who recently had a heart attack and had a stent placed. The main goal is to see which approach better prevents serious complications like death, another heart attack, stroke, or major bleeding within one year.
