New plan aims to stop second heart attacks in surgery patients
NCT ID NCT06768034
Summary
This pilot study is testing whether referring patients who develop heart injury after non-heart surgery to specialists for personalized prevention plans can reduce future major heart problems. The study will enroll 100 patients who had this type of surgery-related heart injury. Half will receive usual care, while the other half will be referred to heart specialists who may prescribe medications and recommend lifestyle changes to protect their hearts.
