Could talking it out lower blood pressure? coaching shows promise
NCT ID NCT07771504
First seen Aug 18, 2026 · Last updated Aug 21, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This trial tests whether adding health coaching to standard care helps adults with hypertension lower their blood pressure and improve their quality of life. Participants receive either standard therapy alone or standard therapy plus four coaching sessions over three months. Researchers will compare changes in blood pressure and quality-of-life scores between the two groups.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Health coaching (behavioral intervention) added to standard hypertension therapy
- What this could lead to
- If it works, adding health coaching to standard care could become a simple, non-drug way to help people with hypertension lower their blood pressure and feel better day-to-day.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study, and results may not apply to everyone. The benefit of coaching may vary, and it won't replace the need for medication or medical supervision.
