New drug combo aims to keep aggressive head & neck cancer at bay

NCT ID NCT05433116

Summary

This study is testing whether adding an oral drug called lenvatinib to an existing immunotherapy (pembrolizumab) works better than the immunotherapy alone to help keep cancer from returning. The treatment is given as 'maintenance therapy' for up to one year after patients complete their initial chemoradiation for locally advanced head and neck cancer. The goal is to see if the combination can help more patients remain cancer-free for two years.
