New diabetes drug HDM1005 faces off against mazdutide in major trial

Summary
This study tests a new medicine called HDM1005 against an existing drug, mazdutide, in about 900 adults with type 2 diabetes whose blood sugar is not well controlled by metformin alone or with another diabetes pill. The goal is to see which drug works better at lowering blood sugar levels over 60 weeks. Participants will receive one of two doses of HDM1005 or mazdutide, and all will continue their current diabetes medications.
