Race against the virus: new study tests faster cure for transplant patients
NCT ID NCT05653232
Summary
This study aims to find the best time to start medication to prevent Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection in people receiving a kidney from an HCV-positive donor. Participants will be assigned to one of two groups: one starts medication before the transplant for a short 2-week course, and the other starts after the transplant for a standard 12-week course. The goal is to see which timing is more effective at preventing HCV infection and ensuring the health of the patient and the new kidney.
