First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study explored whether measuring hand grip strength, a quick and easy test of muscle function, can help predict how well hospitalized cancer patients will do. Researchers followed 130 adults with cancer to see if weaker grip strength was linked to higher risk of death within 30 days, ICU stays, or hospital readmission. The goal is to find a simple tool to identify patients who may need extra support.
