Blood test and ultrasound may replace scopes for ulcer danger check

NCT ID NCT07458490

First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a blood test for H. pylori bacteria and a painless stomach ultrasound can together predict serious complications like bleeding or a hole in the stomach from ulcers. Researchers will check 230 adults with stomach symptoms to see if these simple tests can tell who needs an urgent camera test (endoscopy) and who can wait. The goal is to create a risk score that avoids unnecessary invasive procedures.
