Stomach bug treatment may cut bleeding risk in heart patients
NCT ID NCT07487142
First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study checked how many people getting a heart stent also have an H. pylori infection (a common stomach bug) without symptoms. It then tested whether treating that infection with antibiotics could reduce stomach problems and bleeding caused by the blood thinners these patients must take. The study involved 121 adults with heart disease who were scheduled for a stent procedure.
