First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested a new, non-invasive stool test to detect Helicobacter pylori infection and see if it is resistant to a common antibiotic (clarithromycin). The goal was to guide treatment in primary care without needing an endoscopy. The study enrolled 246 adults with H. pylori infection and measured cure rates six weeks after treatment. The approach aimed to make treatment more effective and reduce unnecessary antibiotics.
