Summary
This study looked back at 1,444 adults who had heart valve replacement surgery using a heart-lung machine. Researchers wanted to see if spending more than 2 hours on the machine raised the risk of stomach and bowel problems after surgery. They also tracked how severe those problems were and how well patients recovered.
