First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at whether eating fermented dairy products with special Bifidobacterium bacteria (with or without prebiotic fibers) for 28 days changes the variety of gut bacteria in healthy adults aged 45 to 60. 182 participants ate either a test yogurt or a regular yogurt twice a day. The goal was to see if the added bacteria and fibers boost gut microbiome diversity.
