Scientists track gut bugs in burn patients to predict recovery
NCT ID NCT07329595
Summary
This study aims to understand how the community of bacteria in the gut changes after a severe burn injury. Researchers will collect stool samples from 30 adult patients with major burns to see if changes in these gut bacteria are linked to the patient's recovery, risk of infections, or other complications. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help improve future care, but this study itself does not test a new treatment.
