Gut bacteria boost could help stop Cancer's return

NCT ID NCT07037004

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 09, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study is testing if adding a specific probiotic (CBM588) to a standard immunotherapy drug (pembrolizumab) can better prevent kidney cancer from coming back after surgery. The trial will enroll 62 patients who have had surgery for high-risk kidney cancer. Researchers believe improving the balance of gut bacteria may help the patient's own immune system fight any remaining cancer cells more effectively.
