First seen Dec 15, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested a custom-made PEEK (a strong plastic) stent to reduce gummy smile in 10 healthy adults with a short, hypermobile upper lip. The stent was placed under the upper lip to limit how much gum shows when smiling. The main goal was to measure the change in gum display, and the study also checked patient satisfaction and any side effects.
