Gum boost: own blood injection may thicken thin gums without surgery

NCT ID NCT07521527

First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether injecting a substance made from a patient's own blood (i-PRF) can safely thicken thin gums, which are prone to receding and causing dental problems. Twenty healthy adults with thin gums in their lower front teeth will receive the injection multiple times over several months. Researchers will measure gum thickness with ultrasound at the start and after 1, 3, and 6 months to see if the treatment works.
