8-Year study reveals gum changes around dental crowns
NCT ID NCT07500636
First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at 32 people who got a single metal-ceramic crown to see how their gums changed over 8 years. Researchers compared the crowned tooth to a matching natural tooth on the other side of the mouth. They measured plaque, bleeding, pocket depth, and gum recession during routine dental exams. The goal was to understand if the crown itself causes gum problems.
