Hormone shot aims to boost recovery after devastating brain injury
NCT ID NCT07481656
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a man-made growth hormone to standard hospital care helps elderly patients recover from serious brain injuries. Researchers want to see if the hormone improves patients' nutrition levels, reduces infections, and helps them leave the hospital sooner. About 160 participants aged 60+ will be randomly assigned to receive either the hormone injection plus standard care or standard care alone for four weeks.
