Speed matters: study tests best pace for muscle tool in teeth grinders

NCT ID NCT07506733

First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether applying the Graston technique (a tool that scrapes the skin to release muscle knots) at a faster or slower speed works better for people with bruxism (teeth grinding). About 34 adults with bruxism and tight trapezius muscles will receive both speeds in random order, with a week break in between. Researchers will measure muscle stiffness, oxygen levels, pain threshold, and pain intensity to find the optimal speed for treatment.
