This study tests a new device called the GORE Ascending Stent Graft to treat a life-threatening tear in the main artery from the heart (type A aortic dissection). The device is placed inside the artery through a small incision, avoiding major open-heart surgery. The trial will enroll 112 people with a recent dissection to see if the device is safe and effective at preventing death, stroke, and the need for further procedures.
