New pill raises hopes for low platelet disorder
NCT ID NCT07196163
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This early-stage trial tests golidocitinib, an oral drug, in adults with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) whose platelet counts remain low despite prior treatments. The study has two parts: first, finding a safe dose, then comparing the drug against a placebo in a blinded fashion. The main goal is to see if the drug can safely raise and maintain platelet counts.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- golidocitinib
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a new oral treatment option for people with immune thrombocytopenia who have not responded to standard therapies.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early phase 1/2 trial with a small number of participants, so safety and effectiveness are not yet proven. The drug may not work or could cause side effects.
