Blood sugar levels linked to stroke recovery in new study

NCT ID NCT05871502

First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how blood sugar levels during a stroke procedure called mechanical thrombectomy affect brain recovery in 100 adults with acute stroke. Researchers want to see if lower blood sugar at the time of reopening the blocked artery leads to better function and less brain damage after 3 months. The goal is to understand the link between glucose and stroke outcomes, not to test a new treatment.
