First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a class of diabetes drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists (like semaglutide) can improve nerve damage in the heart caused by type 2 diabetes. About 60 adults with type 2 diabetes will receive either standard care or standard care plus a weekly injection for 6 months. Researchers will measure heart rate patterns and other health markers to see if the drug helps protect heart nerves.
