New combo surgery may better control eye pressure in glaucoma patients

NCT ID NCT07517302

First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study compares two surgical approaches for people with chronic angle-closure glaucoma who also have cataracts. One surgery removes the cataract and opens the eye's drainage angle; the other adds a tiny blade to further open the drainage. The goal is to see which better lowers eye pressure over one year. 68 adults will take part, and all will receive standard care.
