Summary
This early-stage trial tested a new drug called gentulizumab in people with acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome that had returned or stopped responding to standard treatments. The drug works by blocking a protein (CD47) that cancer cells use to hide from the immune system, helping the body attack the cancer. The study aimed to find a safe dose and check for side effects, but it was terminated early, so results are limited.
