First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tested whether injecting the antibiotic gentamicin directly into swollen lymph nodes helps people with cat scratch disease recover faster. 75 participants received either the injection or a placebo, along with standard oral antibiotics. The goal was to see if the injection reduced node size and avoided the need for drainage or surgery within 28 days.
