Summary
This study aims to find out if genetics play a role in who gets broken heart syndrome (Takotsubo cardiomyopathy), a condition that mimics a heart attack and is often triggered by intense stress. Researchers will collect blood samples from 700 people diagnosed with the condition in Scotland and analyze their DNA. The goal is to identify genetic variations that may increase susceptibility, which could also have implications for family members.
