Gene therapy could restore hearing in children born deaf

Summary
This study tests a gene therapy for people with severe hearing loss caused by otoferlin gene mutations. The treatment delivers a working copy of the gene into the inner ear during a single surgery. Up to 22 participants of any age will be enrolled to check safety and whether hearing improves.
