Scientists track kids for 15 years after gene therapy to uncover hidden risks

NCT ID NCT02315599

Summary

This study aims to understand the long-term safety of gene therapies used to treat childhood cancers. It will follow up to 500 children and young adults for 15 years after they received gene therapy in other National Cancer Institute trials. Researchers will check participants' health regularly through exams, blood tests, and questionnaires to look for any delayed side effects that might appear months or years later.
