DNA-Guided antidepressant prescribing for teens: a smarter way to treat anxiety and depression?

NCT ID NCT06853587

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether using a person's genetic information can help doctors pick the best antidepressant for teenagers aged 12-17 with anxiety or depression. About 452 teens will be randomly assigned to either receive a drug choice based on their genes or follow standard prescribing guidelines. The goal is to see if the genetic approach leads to more teens feeling better and having fewer side effects after 12 weeks.
