First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested whether draining fluid from a swollen gallbladder before removing it (aspiration) reduces complications like accidental bursting, bile leaks, and infections. 70 adults with acute cholecystitis, mucocele, or empyema took part.
