Blood protein levels could predict immunotherapy success in common cancers

NCT ID NCT07485114

First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This observational study is exploring whether levels of a protein called Galectin-3 in the blood are linked to how well patients with kidney, lung, bladder, or liver cancer respond to immunotherapy drugs (PD-1/PDL-1 inhibitors). Researchers will measure Galectin-3 before each treatment and track outcomes like tumor response, survival, and side effects. The goal is to see if this protein can help predict treatment success or guide future therapies. The study plans to enroll 300 adults starting immunotherapy for the first time.
