First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving gabapentin before and after chest surgery can reduce the amount of strong painkillers (opioids) that children need. About 60 children under 18 having heart or lung surgery will take part. The goal is to manage pain with fewer opioids, which can have serious side effects.
