One pill before surgery could slash opioid need for wisdom teeth pain
NCT ID NCT04860141
Summary
This study is testing if taking a single dose of gabapentin two hours before wisdom teeth removal can help control pain and reduce the need for opioid painkillers after surgery. Researchers will compare the gabapentin group to a placebo group, measuring pain levels and how many opioid pills are used in the days following the procedure. The goal is to find a safer way to manage common dental surgery pain while limiting opioid exposure.
