Can a simple urine test help doctors know when to stop dialysis?

NCT ID NCT06229990

First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether a furosemide stress test (a urine test after a water pill) can help doctors decide when to safely stop continuous kidney replacement therapy in ICU patients with severe acute kidney injury. About 80 adults will be randomly assigned to either standard care or care guided by the test. The goal is to see if the test leads to faster kidney recovery without increasing complications.
