Breathe easy: new MRI scans heart without holding breath
NCT ID NCT06878768
First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to take heart MRI pictures while patients breathe normally, instead of holding their breath. Thirty adults with heart disease (ischemic or dilated cardiomyopathy) had both standard breath-hold and new free-breathing scans. The goal was to see if the new method produces clear images that doctors can use to measure heart function.
