Summary
This study is testing a quick, modified frailty screening tool to see if it can predict which older adults are at higher risk for complications and hospital readmission after major elective surgery. The tool takes just a few minutes and checks four areas: walking speed, a simple drawing test, weight/nutrition, and anemia. If successful, it could help doctors better prepare and counsel patients before their operations.
