New nausea drug could offer faster relief in ERs

NCT ID NCT06740812

First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether a newer nausea medicine, fosaprepitant, works better than the standard drug metoclopramide for adults coming to the emergency room with nausea and vomiting. About 212 participants will receive one of the two medicines and report their symptom relief after 2 hours. The goal is to find a more effective and well-tolerated option for emergency care.
