Gentle foot rubs may soothe Brain-Injured babies during Life-Saving cooling

NCT ID NCT07549789

First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether gentle foot massage (reflexology) can help calm and stabilize newborns who have suffered brain injury from lack of oxygen and are receiving cooling therapy. About 84 babies will be split into two groups: one gets standard care plus foot massage, the other gets standard care alone. Researchers will measure the babies' comfort levels and vital signs like heart rate and breathing to see if the massage makes a difference.
